I am trying to see if there is a cut off time. Like is there a significant difference between 85 days and 100 days? Is there a difference between 85 and 120 days? Most of mine in previous years hatch at 4-4g+, however mine were all around 150 days incubating. I am trying them at a higher temp...
I have another thread going on the forum as I am making a chart for people who give me their data so we can see if there is any correlation between incubation period to hatchling size. So this is where if everyone chips in their information, it would be a great benefit for the community to know...
Found it! The baby on the left only incubated around 55-58 days, the one on the left went around 75-80 days. I had a heat spike in the closet I had the eggs in and had not noticed it. I have since switched to an incubator because I was so gutted over the small hatchlings. I know I did weight a...
@Dragonborn Exotics (Ryan) that theory is nestled in the crested community, which does ring true. High temps drastically decrease the size of the animals. If I can find the picture I will show you the difference in size (sadly I didn't weigh them) between 20 difference in incubation time.
Pangea every 3 days, insects 3x a week.
My insects get a custom made dry food I make. They also get Pangea, fresh greens, melon rines if I have melon, broccoli stems, carrots, various fruits that are too ripe for anyone to want to eat.
I know some of you guys don’t weigh your babies when they hatch...yeah I am talking to you two lol! But I am curious of hatchling weight to incubation length. I haven’t had any hatch yet this year, so I am going to try and chart for my own curiosity the weight to incubation time. With cresteds...
Most reptiles though can retain sperm for a year. I've had cresteds, and phelsuma retain sperm for over a year so I would have to assume chahoua would likely be the same.
I use rescue cal as I had stated farther up, compounding it is easy. And ask your vet, it is just a general guideline they have around a 3 month stability storage shelf life. In powder forum the calcium is less likely to separate in the solution as when it is placed into suspension. It isn't to...
We had discussed this a bit among the admins not too long ago and we all agreed real names (first and last) should be required to post in the classifieds. You can also put your real full name in your profile/bio/about me section.
When I had talked to Charlie about it he picked animals from strong color lines since thats about all the cresteds seem to bring to the table. Just like when breeding cresteds if you pair lets say two animals from unknown lineage you never know what youre going to get, but if youre focusing on...
The dosing really depends on the calcium you are using and its concentration. If it is the product from the pet store that has been known to cause chemical burns, I wouldn't use that. Most calcium however is 1cc to every 1kg (think 1:1 ratio), just remember 1g=0.001kg. So lets say you have a 65g...
Sorry, I haven’t had good internet service the last two days so I haven’t been online much!
I would say maybe they are having an issue actually metabolizing the calcium properly. Have you considered using UVB? I don’t normally use it on my cresteds except when I have females that either crash...
Most hybrids I see for sale are ugly IMO, only a few people out there breeding them produce those pretty red and orange ones. If you’re going to do it, think carefully on the crested you plan to use. Don’t just use any old crested, I would use something from strong red or orange lines as the...
