Ambient temperatures, heat lamps, cooling, etc

I'm in the UK so it can get a bit chilly here. I use heat mats with stats, these are on the back of exo terra vivariums. I have bioactive vivariums so have skylights for plant growth (very good led lighting system - I'm not sure you can get them in the US) and UVB T5s. I only put the UVB on for...

    Female eating dud eggs

Caught one of my females who had picked up one of her dud eggs and brought it up to the top of the vivarium and appeared to be eating it! Just wondered if anyone had seen this before

Hatchlings - how do you keep them?

Just wondered how everyone keeps hatchlings before selling them, tubs or vivariums and in a rack system or something else? Am looking to design something, also looking at hooking it up to a misting system too, so any suggestions welcome :)

    Injuries

So sorry to hear about this! I am sure she will be fine :). I cleaned the feeding ledges today and had to extra careful with one of the female vivariums (she has just laid dud eggs) and she's a bit aggressive! I must admit I saw the title of the thread and assumed human injuries!

    Your (Chahoua's) Favorite Feeder Insects

So today I tried small locusts and calci worms. I used tongs as I have bio active vivariums and I'm not keen on having gecko food wandering around... My eat anything female grabbed a locust, sucked out the juicy bits and spat out the skin (shell). No one wanted a calci worm.... Any tips on...

How to establish boundaries as a breeder without being a jerk

Hmmmm I suppose it doesn't matter what you're selling at some point you have to deal with these annoying things called humans! I've not sold reptiles but I have worked as a sales executive in the food industry (chefs and food production companies are very fussy!). You just have to balance...

Straight Source: Full Discussion with Facebook/Instagram Regarding Live Animal Sale Ban

I'm a member of Chahoua geckos for Sale - group on Facebook. But people seem to be listing geckos on there with no issue. Just curious why....is it because they are registered businesses or is it that Facebook are only cracking down on some groups?

    Your (Chahoua's) Favorite Feeder Insects

Horn worms are illegal here in the UK. I like the idea of silkworms however knowing my fussy eaters they will won't be keen! Out of 4 chahouas, 1 ate dubias. 3 ate waxworms, all of them eat crickets, all of them eat isopods.

Eurydactylodes Agricolae vs. Vieillardi in Photos

The smallest one is quite dark in the group photo. It's exactly the same gecko that was in the palm of my hand photo above.

Eurydactylodes Agricolae vs. Vieillardi in Photos

These are all vieillardi. We went for vieillardi are they lay more calcified eggs (than agricolae) so they are similar to chahoua eggs in that respect.
