What fruit diet are you currently feeding your chahoua?

Yeah, I have a couple each of apricot, nectarine, peach, apple, pear and plum trees. I’ve processed several hundred pounds of fruit in the last few weeks and have been stuffing the geckos with as much as they want of it, I haven’t had time for literally anything else lately!

What fruit diet are you currently feeding your chahoua?

I just did the pangea breeder formula with fresh nectarines in it tonight and I have never seen my group go after a batch of food so intensely. One of my males smelled it as I was putting it in the holder next to his tube and actually came out and bit the bowl before I got it in the holder.

    Injuries

Has anyone had serious injuries with chahoua before? I havent had that many pairs, but I have never had a fight with any of them. Well this morning when I was doing my rounds, I noticed Hazel had her mouth ajar and when I looked closer, she has a split lip. I know these guys can heal pretty well...

    Picture thread: dreamboat pairings

I LOVE THIS ONE SO MUCH I HAVE TO YELL IT!!! This is perfect. Like the high white ones are incredible but the crisp collar and side white with those pinks and reds is just my most ideal chahoua.

    Your (Chahoua's) Favorite Feeder Insects

Calci worms are the same thing as black soldier fly/pheonix worms, and my crew hates them. The only way they will eat them is if i put them in smoothies or drizzle some honey on them. Honey isn't great to feed them often so i only do that as a treat if someone looks skinny.

Pine Island Growth Rates at 1 Year Old

Of the 14 I have raised up, all have been between 50-65g by a year old and seem to be mostly done growing by 2. It seems like when my girls start laying eggs young, they take longer to finish growing but I only have two that have done that so not a substantial sample size.

Growth Trends and Adult Sizes: PI vs GT Adults

So I briefly had a pair of mainlands, and the female was about 45g and the male 50g at peak weights. Most of my pines are substantially larger, males at 60/65g and females 70/75g. I do have one gigantic male that is 70g at 10.5 months old and one gigantic female that is 85 grams or so. I only...

    Picture thread: dreamboat pairings

You don’t always know. I pair things up based on either the genetic background of the gecko for certain traits, or for the physical expression of a trait that the gecko is showing. For example, this year I paired ember with basil because they are my most concentrated orange/red male/female. So...

    Picture thread: dreamboat pairings

I like to do this thing where I line up pictures of all my males, and all my females, and then mix and match to dream up next years pairings. Ill put all my boys in this first post, and the girls in the second, and I would love other peoples input on what they think would make cool babies.

    Breeding season, start/end info

So this breakdown is for both leachies and chahoua, i dont keep them separated in my spreadsheets because that would be too much work. But this is what my seasons over the last 3 seasons look like (including dud eggs/eggs that didnt hatch):

    Breeding season, start/end info

My geckos are in a room with a lot of natural light, so even though i keep their lights on a timer they still are cycled with the natural light cycle from where I live. I know chickens are triggered to lay eggs optimally under 14 hour photoperiods.

Nutrition Breakdowns: Insects, Fruits and more

So its generally accepted that between 2:1 is ideal, lower calcium levels than that and the phosphorus inhibits the absorption of calcium. I find that with the girls laying eggs all the time, 3:1 is closer to what I am giving them after supplementation.
